Fine & Performing Arts

Faith Christian School Fine & Performing Arts

At Faith Christian School, we desire to train the whole child to their fullest potential which we believe includes encouraging students to discover and use their creative gifts for the Lord. Our students have many opportunities to develop their skills through music, art, and drama. Our teachers are very gifted in their fields and in turn challenge the students to their highest abilities.

Students have the opportunity to work with various artistic tools and methods such as paint, pastels, chalk, and pencils. All elementary students have art class twice a week. Art is an elective course on the secondary level. Student work is entered into various competitions throughout the year and our students have had numerous award-winning pieces at the State fair, ACSI Art Festival, and Arabian Horse Show exhibits.

All elementary students have music class twice a week. Students will learn music theory, develop vocal skills through individual and group singing, and learn recorders. Students will generally participate in a Winter and Spring production or concert that allows them to demonstrate their God-given vocal and dramatic talents.

Guitars is an elective course for secondary students. Students will learn music theory. The class will participate in a Spring production that allows them to demonstrate their musical God-given talents.

Students in grades 9-12 may audition to be a part of the worship team. Because of their role as worship leaders, worship team members must not only possess musical gifts, but their lives must reflect a personal relationship with the Lord.

Elementary and secondary students will strengthen their performance skills while having the opportunity to learn about and participate in various dramatic projects. Students may find themselves doing reader’s theater, puppetry, monologues, improvisations, one-act plays, and full productions in their classes.

Our students also have the opportunity to audition for one of our large scale productions on the main stage. Our recent productions performed were SeussicalMary Poppins JR, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
